Providing Comfort and Caring Since 1926

Jeanne Amonson

( Jun 20, 1947 - Nov 19, 2013 )
St. Louis Park

Jeanne Louise Siemers Amonson was born in Minneapolis and died at age 66. She fought a 3 year battle against ovarian cancer with strength, persistence and astonishing grace.

Survived by husband, John "Skip" Amonson; son, Jon (Mafdet) Amonson and partner, Sarah Arp; daughter, Lisa Marks; son-in-law, Tony Marks; granddaughter, Kaitlin Marks; sisters, Katherine Christianson and Mary Doyle as well as beloved nephews and niece and dear cousins.

Preceded in death by parents, Frederick M. Siemers and Elaine LaPalme Siemers.

Jeanne was devoted to her family, keeping each one close and loved. She had a gift for friendship, cherishing old friends and delighting in new ones. She possessed a knack for turning the conversation away from herself; everyone else came first. After working as a bank teller, she built a small residential cleaning company so that she could put her kids on the school bus and be home when they returned. As the Heart of the cabin at Pequot Lakes, a refuge for 5 generations, Jeanne led everyone in noisy fun and quiet rest. She was a graduate of St. Margaret's Academy and a history major at the University of Minnesota.

The family wishes to send heartfelt thanks to Dr. Mark Gavin, Frauenshuh Cancer Center, Park Nicollet Hospice and all Jeanne's compassionate caregivers
