Aletha L. "Lee" Church

Church, Aletha L. “Lee”, age 92 of Maple Grove, formerly of St. Louis Park, passed away 1/14/23.  Preceded in death by husband, Thomas; parents, Randolph and Frances Thorne; and sister, Myrta Rowell.  Survived by son, Tom (Becky) Church; grandchildren, Tommy (Holly) Church and Jessie (Jess) Shaver ; great-grandchildren, Owen, Case, Jackson, Knox, Maddie and Maggie; other relatives and friends. Lee was a dedicated wife, daughter, mother and grandmother. She had a long-standing passion for showing both dogs and horses. These accomplishments can be seen by the many boxes of trophies still in the family, along with many published publications showcasing Lee and her many accomplishments. Lee was a very strong woman, losing her husband in 1982 and immediately dedicating the latter portion of her life caring for her beloved mother, Frances Thorne. Lee stayed with her mother until her death in 2012, never wavering from her duty of care. Lee & Frances spent their winters in St. Louis Park where Lee grew up, and their summers at Lee’s pride and joy, her cabin on Big Lake in Richmond, MN. Lee will be greatly missed by her family and we were very fortunate to be able to spend the many years together. We would like to thank Silvercreek on Main and Gentiva Hospice for her great end of life care.  Service Friday (1/20), 1:30 PM with visitation starting at 12:30 PM at Gearty-Delmore Plymouth Chapel, 15800 37th Ave. No.  Interment St. Thomas Cemetery, Corcoran.
