Alexander Carl Ostrosky, age 31, of Golden Valley, Minnesota, passed away on December 9, 2025.

Alex was born on August 26, 1994, in Edina, Minnesota, and grew up in Mendota Heights. He was the beloved son of Keith Ostrosky and Kristi Erickson Mullen. From a young age, Alex demonstrated a deep sense of compassion and purpose that guided how he lived and connected with others.

Athletic, spiritual, thoughtful, and hardworking, Alex was known for his caring heart and loyal nature. He was adventurous and loved being outdoors, always eager to explore new paths—both literally and figuratively. Those who knew him remember his warm, personable presence and his natural ability to make others feel seen and valued. When Alex was helping someone, he made them feel like the most important person in the world. He followed his heart without hesitation, embraced change, and was never afraid to try something new.

Alex loved running, hiking, fitness, fishing, and sports, and he remained an enthusiastic sports fan throughout his life. He enjoyed a hot cup of tea, sitting by a fire, and had a love for dogs. He also cherished time spent playing games—especially cribbage and bridge—with family and friends.

Alex attended St. Thomas Academy for high school before moving to North Dakota to study business at North Dakota State College of Science. He later moved to Florida to continue his degree at Warner University, where he also participated in both track & field and cross country. His adventurous spirit then led him to Olympia, Washington, where he worked as a lifeguard, and later to Eugene, Oregon, where he worked in construction. Throughout his professional life, Alex gravitated toward helping others and sought work with purpose, motivated by a desire to make a meaningful difference. After returning to Minnesota for a time—spending much of it in Golden Valley and Grand Marais—Alex moved to Arizona, where spent time climbing Piestewa Peak and loved hiking in Sedona. He worked in assisted care and found joy in attending services and volunteering at Christ Church Lutheran in Phoenix. Eventually returning to Minnesota to be closer to family, Alex rediscovered his love for winter and its simple pleasures, from skiing and ice skating to helping neighbors after a snowfall. He found comfort in attending services at Calvary Church and was especially fond of his Alpha group, always looking forward to the conversations and connection it provided.

Alex was dearly loved and will be profoundly missed by many. Alex is survived by his father, Keith Ostrosky (Carol Crockett); his mother, Kristi Erickson Mullen (Steve Mullen); and his brother, Adam Ostrosky (Jessamyn). He is also survived by his uncles, Patrick Ostrosky (Pam, cousins: Kelly (Ian), Kristine, and Daniel (Diane), and Michael Ostrosky; and by his grandparents Gene and Barbara Erickson; his uncle, Michael Erickson (Maureen, cousins: Nick, Ellie (Matthew), and Charlie); and his aunt, Elizabeth Strain (Rick, cousin: Britta). He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Daniel and Beverly Ostrosky.

A service celebrating Alex’s life will be held on Friday, December 19, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Calvary Church, Golden Valley Chapel, 7520 Golden Valley Road, Golden Valley, Minnesota 55427, with visitation 1 hour prior. Reception to follow.  In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the family.

Alex will be remembered for his faith, his smile, and the many lives he touched through his compassion. He will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
