Alexander Michael Swenson

On December 25th, 2024, our beloved son Alexander Michael Swenson passed away peacefully at his home in Waconia, Minnesota, with his dog Lincoln by his side. A celebration of life service for Alex will be held at Calvary Church, Golden Valley Chapel on Monday, January 6th at 11am. Visitation will be held one hour prior starting at 10am, with lunch to follow the service.

Alex was welcomed into life by his parents Mike and Mary on March 5th, 1988, and his birth was eagerly anticipated by his older sister Leah. Alex spent most of his childhood in Maple Grove, Minnesota where he graduated from Maple Grove Senior High School, and he went on to graduate from St. Cloud State University with a degree in Political Science. Alex was employed at Mel Foster Company for the last nine years, five of which were in his current role in outside sales. He took tremendous pride in his work accomplishments.

Alex was our world, and his death has left us heartbroken. He was charismatic, perceptive and wise, compassionate and loving, and shared these qualities with all who knew him. Alex will be remembered for these qualities, and for his kind smile and sense of humor. Alex had a strong faith and worked to deepen his understanding on how to incorporate his faith into daily life.

His dog, Lincoln, was adored by Alex and was his constant companion. Lincoln’s care and well being were his highest priority. Alex loved spending time with his family and was passionate about two Minnesota teams, the Vikings and the Wild. He enjoyed working around his house and taking Lincoln for daily walks in downtown Waconia.

Along with his parents and sister, Alex is survived by much-loved grandparents Duane and Joan Swenson, aunts, uncles, cousins from both sides of his family, his friends and co-workers. Alex was preceded in death by grandparents, Bud and Audrey Koop, two uncles and cousins.
