Alexey Chernyaev

was born July 15, 1946 in Omsk, Russia.  He passed away July 26, 2026 in Woodbury, MN at age 80.  

Alexey was devoted to his family & Orthodox faith. He immigrated his family to America from the Soviet Union in 1985 to create a better life for them. He was prideful of being a Civil Engineer and serving Minnesotans by working at the Department of Transportation for 29 years. Also, by helping his community, being on the Cottage Grove city council & creating a non-profit that translated health & safety material for Slavic immigrants.

The preceding members are his mother Rufina & father Volodya and the surviving members his wife Luba, sons Serge & Nicholas, sister Olga(Lenny, & Alex), brother Sergey(Matveh, Michael, & Mary), and granddaughter Everly. 

 Prayer Service will be held 10:00 am Saturday, August 1, 2026 at Gearty-Delmore Funeral Chapel, 15800 37th Ave. N. in Plymouth.  Interment Grandview Cemetery in Hopkins.
