Szymanski, Alice M.
Age 94 of St. Louis Park passed peacefully at home on January 18, 2024. Preceded in death by beloved husband, Gene; parents Joe and Freda Joseph; siblings Michael and Philip Joseph, Harriet McDonald, Lenore Mastin, and Louise Hannah. Survived by many loving nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and nephews, cousins, and treasured friends. Alice grew up in northeast Minneapolis, attended Notre Dame de Lourdes grade school and graduated from Minneapolis Vocational High School, specializing in needle trades. She worked in alterations and tailoring before transitioning to office work for the railroads. She had many travel adventures while taking advantage of her railroad benefits. She married Eugene Szymanski in 1965 and had a long and loving marriage. Alice was a devout Catholic, a lively and fun-loving person, and a loyal and loving friend, sustaining many lifelong friendships. After a long, full life, Alice has gone to her eternal reward. She will be deeply missed. Visitation Tuesday, January 23, 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., with Prayer Service at 6:00 p.m. at Gearty-Delmore St. Louis Park Chapel, 3960 Wooddale Ave S. Liturgy of Resurrection at St. Maron Maronite Catholic Church, 600 University Ave NE, Minneapolis, at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 24, with visitation one hour before Liturgy. Private interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Memorials to American Red Cross or donor’s choice.
