Alvin "Al" C. Winter

Winter, Alvin C.

Age 98 of Woodlake Healthcare, New Hope. Al, oldest of 6 children, spanning 25 years. Survived by brothers, Mel of Columbia, MO, Loren of Saint Louis Park, Darrell of Cushing. Preceded in death by sister, Celine Urbanski of Saint Cloud and brother, Ronald of International Falls.

Married in 1954 in Rio, Brazil. He divorced. Following Catholic tradition, he did not marry again.

Drafted US army 1945, post WWII in Germany 1946-48, UofM 1953 BSEE, employed by Control Corp 1957, which was acquired by Control Data Corp. Retired after 28 years. Work provided travel to Europe, Africa, Greece, India, and Brazil and other. With a group of families and friends who shared his interest in outdoor activities, spent 50 years hunting/fishing Itasca County MN, Manitoba and Ontario Canada.

Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, April 17th at Saint Mary of the Lake Catholic Church, 105 N. Forestview Lane, Plymouth, MN. Visitation beginning at 10:00 AM with Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM. Lunch to follow Funeral Mass at the church. Interment at Gethsemane Cemetery, New Hope.
