Amelia Gallagher, age 92, of Golden Valley, passed away peacefully on October 24th, surrounded by her children. Amelia lived her life with grace, devotion, and a belief in the power of prayer. Her Catholic faith was the foundation of her days, taking her through life's joys and challenges and guiding her until her final moments.
Amelia was raised in Northeast Minneapolis alongside her three siblings Albert, Rajah, and Raymond; by their mother, Afife. The family was deeply rooted in the Lebanese community, especially through their involvement at St. Maron Catholic Church. Their time there was a formative part of Amelia's upbringing, keeping her closely connected to her Lebanese heritage and the traditions that shaped her early life.
Amelia was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John, and son, Sean. She is survived by her children: Michele (Bill) Caulfield, Marguerite Gallagher, Michael (Renee) Gallagher, Anastasia (Tom) Lynch, and Maureen (Eric) Shurson; and by her 13 grandchildren, who brought her endless pride and joy: James, Connor, Patrick, Marguerite, Colin, Moira, Liam, Sean, Frankie, Thomas Jr., Amelia, Anna, and Michael and her three great grandchildren: Amelia, Dominic, and Madeline.
Amelia will be remembered for her kindness, her unwavering love for her family, and the faith that shaped her long and beautiful life.
The family would also like to say a special thank you to the staff at Global Pointe Senior Living and the team at Favoured Hospice, who took such wonderful care of her over these last few months.
