Arlene E. Behm

Arlene E. Behm, age 92 of Maple Grove, passed peacefully in the arms of her husband on January 20, 2024.

Arlene is survived is survived by her husband of 73 years, Donald; children, Jim, Vicki (Jim), Kathy (Mike); daughter-in-law, Diane; grandchildren, Nicole (Kraig), Jeremiah, Eric, Daniel (Amelia), Brian (Theodora); great-grandchildren, William, Christina, Athena, Nicholas, Jessica, Aurora, Artemis, Beatrix; sister, Phyllis (Jim); brother-in-law, Dave (Karen); many nieces, nephews, relatives, and countless friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Mildred; son, Bruce; sister, Ardella; brothers-in-law, Donald, Harry; and sister-in-law, Betty.

Arlene, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, was the oldest of three girls born to William & Mildred Gratz in Willmar, MN. She was a strong woman who, along with Don raised four wonderful children, and loved her family and friends deeply, which was clear in the way her face lit up whenever her loved ones were around. Arlene will be remembered for positively impacting hundreds of children over her 40 years as an elementary educator, volunteering tirelessly with church & other organizations, and always having a place at her table for friends and family.

Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church, 19903 56th Ave NE, Atwater, MN on Saturday, January 27, 2024. Funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. Interment at St. John Lutheran Cemetery. Immediately followed by fellowship and lunch at the church.
