Arthur "Art" Lee Fretag

Beloved husband and father Arthur Lee Fretag age 83, passed away peacefully on 11-10-2025 surrounded by his loving family.

Art is survived by his wife of 58 years, Agnes; children, Andrew (Kim), Chris (Joan) and Mary Farber; grandchildren, Zachary, Emma and their mother, Wendy, Madeline, Justin, Christopher, Ethan and Nathaniel; brother, Dennis (Sandra) and sister, Linda (Jon).

He is preceded in death by beloved son, Chad.

Art was entrepreneurial in nature with an infectious smile and love for life, apparent to all. He commented that he never worked a day in his life because he loved whatever he was doing. He held a Masters Degree in Public Health Administration from the University of Minnesota.

Starting at age 19, Art opened and operated a pizza parlor, developed a hanger company, and had a coffee truck run. After graduation college, he taught school for two years, and then went into real estate as a salesman, broker and home builder. A friend approached him to be the salesman for a start-up medical laboratory and Art successfully held and loved that position in various labs for over 20 years. Art went into medical clinic management for a number of years, but Alzheimer’s forced him to finally retire. Even in retirement he remained contagiously happy, grateful and loved to be around family and friends. We will miss him so much, but out beloved smiling Art would want us to keep smiling, too, as he watches us from his heavenly home.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on 11-22-2025 at 11:00 A.M. at the Church of St. Anne, 200 Hamel Road, Hamel.
