Brian James O'Keefe, 46, of Salt Lake City, Utah, passed away on February 23, 2026 in the mountains outside Salt Lake City, doing what he loved most. He was born in New Prague, Minnesota and grew up in Chanhassen, where his love of adventure began and never slowed down.
Known to many simply as "Keith," Brian had an energy that filled every room and a heart that made everyone feel welcome. He had a gift for putting a smile on people's faces, and he was loved deeply for it.
Brian was the Co-Owner of SteelBiltt, a testament to his drive and entrepreneurial spirit. Outside of work, he lived for the outdoors. Whether snowboarding, dirt biking, fishing, hunting, or spending time at the family cabin in Minnesota, Brian was most at home when he was outside and in motion. To the younger generation, he will always be remembered as "Coach Keith," having shared his passion for snowboarding and mini motocross with kids who looked up to him.
He is survived by his parents, Kathy and Tim O'Keefe; his brothers, Brent O'Keefe (Brit) and their children Brayden and Bria, and Kelly O'Keefe (James); his girlfriend, Tonja Nelson Twito; his beloved dog, Maggie, who was never far from his side; and his grandmother, Donna O'Keefe, along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends who loved him dearly.
Brian was loved by many and will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
