Carol R. Forsyth

Carol R. Forsyth of Plymouth, age 87, passed away Dec. 20, 2016, surrounded by family.
Carol was born on December 7, 1929 to Neal and Irene Benson of Jackson, MN and followed her sisters to Macalester College in St. Paul, where she became the first of her siblings to graduate. Carol and college sweetheart, Doug, were married for over 65 years. They had three children in quick succession and Carol began earning her reputation as the “hostess with the mostest” from friends and family. No one put more energy into keeping the extended family connected over the years and across the country.
After their children were all in school, Carol launched her professional career, first making her mark on the English department of the local high school and finally managing an architect’s office before joining Doug in retirement. Carol and Doug were able to enjoy many years of retirement, including trips abroad and spending winter months in Scottsdale, AZ as “snow birds”. Throughout the years, nothing was more important to her than family.

Carol is survived by husband, Doug; children, Mike (Wendy), Mark (Rhonda) and Jaime; siblings Shirley Hansen and Betty Hevle; grandchildren Lindsay Dittberner (Adam), Grace Church (Nick), Daniel Forsyth (Dominika) and Charles Forsyth; great-grandchildren Claire and Jack Dittberner and many in her extended family.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, Feb 4th at St. Barnabas Lutheran Church, 15600 Old Rockford Road, Plymouth. The service begins at 11 am, preceded by visitation at 10 am and followed by a reception luncheon.

Memorials can be made to Jordan Crossing Hospice or the Alzheimer’s Association (www.alz.org).
