Charles E. Bastian

Charles E. “Charlie” Bastian, 86, of Plymouth, MN, formerly of New Ulm, passed away Sunday, May 30, 2021.

Charles grew up on a farm and always had a love for gardening and the Earth. He is a veteran, worked for Kraft Foods, Bastian Roofing and Siding and was a caretaker for both a townhouse and apartment complex. In general, no job defined him, but his hard-working spirit and problem-solving attitude were two defining characteristics. His quirky humor, immense keychain collection and admiration for his wife were just a few of many things that made his loved ones smile.

He is survived by wife of 59 years, Eldonna; children, Karen (Gassan) Khori, Linda (Scott) Osborne, Duane (Karen) Bastian and Dawn Bastian; grandchildren, Justina, Salemi, Whitney, Sophia, Emerald, Jeffrey, Selena, Isaiah, Walid, Stella, Gabrielle, Calvin, Hannah, Amelia, Charles, Majeed, James and Lydia; great grandchild, Harper; siblings, Joan Fuchs, Bernice Bastian, Don, Dorothy Siekman, Diane Bastian and David.

Charles was preceded in death by son, Jeffrey; parents, William and Bertha (Kokesch) Bastian; siblings, Elaine Boynton, Stanley, Rita Bastian, Robert and Patrick.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, June 8 at St. Joseph’s Parish Center, 8701 36th Ave N, New Hope. Visitation will be Monday, June 7, from 5 to 7 pm at Gearty-Delmore Plymouth Chapel, 15800 37th Ave N (@ Vicksburg Lane), and again one hour prior to Mass TUESDAY AT CHURCH.
