Surrounded by love, Cheryl Marie Powell, 76, passed away on November 2, 2025. Born in Pensacola, Florida, in 1949, Cheryl's life was a testament to strength and compassion. After many years of building a home and raising her family in Plymouth, Minnesota, she spent her final years in Colorado.

From an early age, she had a natural gift for caring, whether it was for her family, her friends, or anyone in need. She devoted her life to creating a loving home where we always felt supported and understood. Her warmth filled every space she entered, and her smile could turn an ordinary day into something special.

Cheryl's kindness and determination reached far beyond her family. Through her volunteer work as an advocate for people with disabilities, she gave her time, energy, and heart to helping others. She stood up for those who needed a voice and believed deeply in fairness, dignity, and inclusion. Her work made a real difference in people's lives and inspired everyone who knew her. She was the person you could count on for advice, comfort, or just to share a story and a laugh. She was the glue that held her family together, the steady presence behind every challenge, and the loving reminder to treat others with care and respect.

She loved baking, reading books by Dean Koontz, researching everything (especially health topics), watching Antiques Roadshow, Medical Mysteries, and finding treasures at the Dollar Store. She loved talking about beauty tips and makeup with her granddaughter and found joy in caring for her beloved dogs - Pepe, Sam, Simba, Happy, Lucky, and Max.

She leaves behind her loving daughters, Rachel (Dan) Ballstadt and Colleen (Mike) Nyhus; granddaughter, Mikaela Nyhus; and siblings Thomas (Ulla) Feely, Kevin Feely, John (Jackie) Feely, Mary (John) Atwater, Colleen (Michael Crowley) Feely, Susan McFaddin, and Ann (Bob) Moffat, members of the Powell family and many nieces and nephews all of whom will forever carry her love in our hearts. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Powell; parents, James and Charlene Feely; brother, Jim Feely; sister, Kate Grady, whom she missed dearly; and many cherished dogs she spoiled with love.

Celebration of life service will be held at Gearty-Delmore Funeral Chapel, 15800 37th Ave. N, Plymouth, MN, at 11 am on Saturday, June 20, with reception to follow.

In lieu of flowers, we invite donations to your favorite animal shelter in her memory, so her legacy of compassion may continue on.

Mom, your love shaped who we are. Your strength taught us resilience, and your kindness showed us what it means to live with purpose. We miss you deeply and will carry you with us always.
