Christine Nelson

Christine was a loving and dedicated wife to her husband Allen Nelson as she had vowed to be when they were married in 1988 until sickness disabled her ability to do so in the past few years. They had both suffered from mental illness and she enabled him to live the best life he could. Though she never had her own children, she made sure they were involved in the lives of her two step-sons and grandchildren.  Living in Edina, together they worked many volunteer hours at their church, Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, and with NAMI National Alliance on Mental Illness. In her younger years, she went off and volunteered in the Peace Corps. She was a very intelligent woman who enjoyed the challenge to engage with family and friends.

Survived by Husband Allen C Nelson, Step-Sons Timothy Nelson and Andrew Nelson, Step-Grandchildren Sara Szabo and Thomas Nelson. She also has numerous cousins and extended family on both her mother and father's side of the family.

Preceded by her mother Catherine Jacobson and Father Earl Jacobson. Aunts Ada Cameron, Sarah Joy Ross, and Barbara Conrad.

A memorial service for Christine will be held at the Walker Methodist Health Center Chapel on Saturday March 18 at 2:00pm.
