Cynthia Larson Orn,
loving wife, mother and grandmother, age 77, of Plymouth, MN passed away peacefully at her home on November 27, 2024. Cindy is survived by her husband and forever love Wayne Orn. She was the loving mother of Heidi (Chris) Holland of Fargo, ND; Molly (John) Giovinco of Chanhassen, MN; and Adam (Melissa) Larson of Tampa, FL; and stepmother of Mike (Lori) Orn of Anoka, MN; Rob (Mary) Orn of Inver Grove Heights, MN; and Brad (Becky) Orn of Duluth, MN. She was also the beloved grandmother and biggest cheerleader of 22 grandchildren and one sweet great-grandson. She is also survived by her sister Wendy (Rich) Leiter and brother Richard Werges of Lincoln, NE and a plethora of friends and relatives. Cindy was preceded in death by her first love Donavon Larson, her mother Jeanette Werges, her father Dick Werges, and sister Sandy Sewell.
Cindy was born July 1, 1947 in Long Beach, CA and moved to Minneapolis, MN as a young girl. She loved growing up on White Bear Lake and graduated salutatorian from Mahtomedi High School in 1965. She attended Hamline University, where she met her first love Donavon, and graduated Magna Cum Laude as a music major in 1969. Cindy was also proud to serve as the Hamline Piper mascot during her time at Hamline. Throughout her life she was the ultimate coaches wife and mom to not only her own kids but to many players and friends of the family. She was extremely talented and passionate about music during her entire life, often serving as a private piano teacher, in elementary music education, and in numerous churches as an organist, choir and music director. She had the voice of an angel and is undoubtedly singing in the heavenly choirs as we speak.
In 2008, Cindy married Wayne and set off on a blessed life with their blended family of Six children and 22 grandchildren. Wayne and Cindy enjoyed numerous trips traveling around the world, highlighted by a trip to Israel. Cindy took unbelievable pride supporting everyone at their countless sporting events, recitals, and celebrating their life successes. She was the best grandma and ultimate people person who brought joy each day to everyone she met. The energy she had for life was an inspiration for all of us!
A celebration of life service for Cindy will be at 11 am on Monday, Dec 9 at Grace Church, 9301 Eden Prairie Road in Eden Prairie, MN. Visitation will start 90 minutes prior to the service at Grace Church, and a reception will be held after the service. Private burial will be held at Lakeview Cemetery in Mahtomedi, MN following the reception.
