Dale M Streier

Streier, Dale M. 73, of Minneapolis, passed away peacefully on June 9, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. Dale was born in Sisseton, SD, where he lived until the family relocated to the Iron Range. Dale attended Hibbing High School, Hibbing Tech College, and St. Cloud State University, where Dale met the love of his life, Mary Meade Streier. They married and spent 46 years together raising their two sons, Jeff and David, in Southwest Minneapolis, enjoying the lakes, parkway, and city events. Dale lived a life of quiet service to others, asking himself each morning, “Who can I serve today?” His life was the consummate answer to this question. Dale worked for Target Corp. for over 40 years, implementing many tech programs still used today. As a young man, he served in the US Army. He was an active volunteer: coaching youth sports, serving Annunciation school/church, and volunteering with Commonbond Study Buddies and VEAP food pantry. The heart of Dale’s service was to his family, friends, and neighbors through his gentle nature, generous spirit, and steady presence. He was selfless and never too busy to offer support or a kind word to others. He was the best husband, dad, brother, and grandpa and will be deeply missed. Preceded in death by his father Marion and brother Donn, Dale is survived by his mother Mildred Streier McCauley, his wife Mary, sons Jeff (Olivia LeDee) and David (Emily), beloved grandchildren Ansel, Ada, John, and Michael, siblings Wayne (Norma), Randy, Al (Deb), Gayle (Tom Moe) and Faye (Jim Kangas), Mary’s brothers Pat Meade (Cathy), Jack Meade (Ellie), many nieces and nephews, the Bob McCauley family, extended relatives in South Dakota, and a wide circle of friends. His memorial service will be held at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Community in Minneapolis on July 11 at 1:00 pm (visitation at 12:30 pm). In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to VEAP (veap.org) www.hydroassoc.org, or to family to be used for a tribute at Lake Harriet.
