David W Saline

It is with profound sadness that we share the sudden passing of David "Big D" Saline, age 70, of New Hope. Dave passed away on July 7, 2026, at Methodist Hospital.

Born on March 19, 1956, in Minneapolis to Edward and Alice (Lafferty) Saline, Dave grew up on the Northside and proudly carried that identity throughout his life. He graduated from Patrick Henry High School, where he met and later married his high school sweetheart, Marianne McShane. Together they built a beautiful life over 46 years, raising their daughters, April and Amanda, and creating a home where everyone was welcome.

For more than four decades, Dave dedicated himself to his work as a realtor, guiding generations of families through one of life's biggest milestones-purchasing a home. His clients became friends, and his reputation for honesty, kindness, and caring became the foundation of his career.

Dave was a devoted grandpa who never missed a game, concert, or first day of school. He delighted in sharing photos and stories of his grandchildren, celebrating every accomplishment, big or small. His presence-cheering/yelling from the sidelines-will be deeply missed.

To know Dave was to know a personality larger than life. His kindness, humor, and ability to connect with anyone made him unforgettable. He had a guy for everything, a story to tell, and a hug ready whenever it was needed. A true friend in every sense, he brought laughter wherever he went.

Proudly known as Big D, he embodied the spirit of the Northside and leaves behind a legacy of generosity, loyalty, and love.

Dave is survived by his loving wife, Marianne; daughters April (Josh) Cerqua and Amanda (Shawn) Engel; and his cherished grandchildren Lily, Aubrey, Maisy, and Beckem. He is also survived by his siblings Bruce, Roger (Lisa), and Debra (Ken) Wenlund. He is preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Alice, and his sister, Barbara Sundquist, and brother Chuckie.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at St. Joseph Catholic Community in New Hope at 11:00 a.m., with visitation beginning one hour prior. An additional visitation will take place on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, from 5-8 p.m. at Gearty-Delmore Funeral Chapel in Robbinsdale.

Dave's legacy of giving continues through his choice to be an organ donor. In lieu of flowers, consider donating to a charity of your choice in his honor.
