Debra Bradtke Cone passed away peacefully in her son's arms on the morning of May 24, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Deb was born on October 28, 1954, in Franklin, Kentucky. In 1955, her family moved to Murfreesboro, Tennessee, where she grew up and completed her education.
She earned her teaching degree in 1977 from Middle Tennessee State University, beginning a lifelong calling to educate and nurture young children. Deb dedicated 42 years to teaching kindergarten and first grade at Monroe Elementary School in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota. Her passion, patience, and love for her students left a lasting impact on countless young lives and families.
Debbie's greatest joy and legacy was her family. Her sons, Spencer and Robert, along with her beloved grandchildren-Riley, Eaen, Aliya, Henry, and Rachel-brought her immense happiness, laughter, and cherished memories. She found great joy in planning family dinners, celebrations, and holidays to bring loved ones together.
In her later years, Deb was actively involved in several groups, including the CCW Guild, her book club, and the "Lovely Lake Ladies" of Lake Success. Through these friendships, she enjoyed laughter, companionship, and a strong sense of community.
Deb will be remembered for her radiant smile, joyful spirit, and vibrant personality. Her love for family and others touched all who knew her, and she will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her sons, Spencer and Robert; her grandchildren, Riley, Eaen, Aliya, Henry, and Rachel; and her sisters, Nancy Todd and Jannie Lamb.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, June 3rd at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church at 11am with a visitation one hour prior.
A visitation the night before the service will be held at Gearty-Delmore Plymouth Chapel from 6 to 8pm
