Dennis “Denny” Brummer, age 79, passed away peacefully on June 18, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.
Born on May 18, 1947, in Corcoran, Minnesota, Denny was the son of Joe and Rose Brummer. He attended Wayzata High School and later graduated from Dunwoody Technical College. Denny dedicated his professional life to serving others as a barber, proudly owning and operating Denny’s Barber Salon for more than 50 years before retiring in 2015. His shop was more than a business—it was a gathering place where friendships were built and stories were shared.
Denny’s love for horses was instilled in him by his father, Joe, at a young age. Together they spent many years buying and selling horses, a passion Denny carried throughout his life. He also enjoyed horse shows, country music, baseball, and was deeply devoted to his Catholic faith.
Above all, Denny cherished his family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend whose kindness, humor, and steady presence touched many lives.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Rose Brummer; brother, Dick Brummer; brother-in-law, Fred White; nephew, Randy Brummer; and niece, Donna White.
Denny is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Joan Brummer, whom he married on April 24, 1971; his children, Andy (Brandie) Brummer, Katie Harens, and Jodi Brummer; and his eight cherished grandchildren: Trey, Dylan, Ryder, Emma, Connor, Tatum, Tilly, and Teddy. He is also survived by many extended family members and dear friends.
Denny will be remembered for his strong faith, his love of horses and the western way of life, the countless conversations shared in his barber chair, and the deep love he had for his family.
