Raised in south Minneapolis he graduated from Central High School in 1959. After graduating he worked at Merit Gage as a machinist and in 1966 he and his brother Kent started Micro Fab Machining, Inc. and retired after 35 successful years running the business.
He was an avid golfer and a member of Minnesota Valley Country Club for many years. He had won two different tournaments in his life, one at MVCC and one at Dwan Golf Course.
Being a car enthusiast he had many cars over the years, but his favorite car was a Corvette. His first one was a Midnight Blue 1963 split window and had many different models over the years. When the weather was good (even in the winter) he would go out for an evening drive.
Over the years he had many projects. He built a 1923 T-Bucket street rod, built a custom chopper motorcycle, bought a 2005 Suzuki Hayabusa motorcycle and customized it, and started building GT40 race car but was unable to finish it due to health issues.
He also loved watching reruns of old tv shows and old science fiction movies. Some of his favorites were Star Trek, All in the Family, Sopranos, War of the Worlds, Forbidden Planet and The Day the Earth Stood Still.
A private Celebration of Dennis’ Life will be held in the Spring 2026.
