Dianne Lee (Ress) Verkennes

Dianne Lee “Ress” Verkennes, age 77, of Blaine, passed away unexpectedly on March 4, 2022.

A proud working woman, Dianne spent many devoted years at Lindsay Brothers in the North Loop, and later went on to be an integral team member at Goodin Company. Along her journey she met husband, Bill, who fell in love with her for her selfless and easy-going nature. They married on St. Patrick’s Day and would go on to enjoy the company of each other’s families for many years to come. Dianne was known to “take the high road”, and always kept the peace within her family and her marriage.

In later years, she spent a large amount of time at the VFW, selling pulltabs and singing karaoke. She and Bill were also members of the Lions Club, which kept them plenty busy.

Even through her last days, Dianne showed a remarkable amount of grace, and for that she will be greatly missed.

Survived by loving husband, of 43 years, Bill Verkennes; son, Tony (Jan) Budak; stepdaughters, Karen Verkennes and Sheila (Joe) Heinz; grandchildren, Tucker, Hadleigh and Emmett Budak, Elizabeth (Joe) Marciw, Charlie and Amy Heinz, and Tetua-raa Espere; great-grandson, Tyler Marciw; sister, Sharon Eigenheer; brother, Dan (Vicky) Ress; along with many other relatives, coworkers, and friends.
