Donald Behm

Donald H. Behm, age 94 of Maple Grove, passed away peacefully May 6, 2024 and is now rejoined with his beloved wife of 73 years in eternal afterlife.

Don, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend was the second of four children to be born to Carl & Ann Behm in Willmar, MN. He was a warm-hearted, loving man that prioritized his family above all else. Don was proud to have served as an Air Force Staff Sergent in the Korean Conflict. He gave selflessly of his time to countless organizations over the years, volunteering with Big Brothers and Big Sisters, Boy Scouts, his church, tax preparation for older adults, and hosting foreign exchange students, to name a few. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting & fishing with his son, Bruce, cousins, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and friends. Many of his friends came from his days with Lindsay Water Softeners (now known as EcoWater), where he was well-known first as a Lindsay Dealer and later as District Sales Manager before he retired. Don’s infectious smile and warm hugs will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Don is survived by his children, Jim, Vicki (Jim), Kathy (Mike); daughter-in-law, Diane; grandchildren, Nicole (Kraig), Jeremiah, Eric, Daniel (Amelia), Brian (Theodora); great-grandchildren, William, Christina, Athena, Nicholas, Jessica, Aurora, Artemis, Beatrix; sister, Linda (Mike), brother-in-law, Dave (Karen) and sister-in-law, Betty; many nieces, nephews, relatives, and countless friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Ann; wife, Arlene; son, Bruce; sister, Betty; brother, Harry; brother-in-law, Don and sister-in-law, Ardella.

Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 11, 2024, preceded by an hour of visitation at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 19903 56th Ave NE, Atwater, MN. Interment at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery.
