Donald Morgan Hoseth

Don Hoseth, 81, of New Hope, MN, passed away peacefully on September 23, 2024. He was born on March 19, 1943 in Two Harbors, MN to Morgan and Mabel Hoseth.

Don LOVED people! Whether in the classroom, over coffee at church, or at his home of over 50 years with his beloved family, he was always telling stories, jokes, and engaging energetically with people. He was a proud alumnus of Augsburg University and fondly recalled his average skills playing football and hockey. Don cherished the relationships he made with students and educators over his decades of teaching in the Robbinsdale and Delano school districts. Don loved photography, playing softball with his incredible friends on the Fossils, tie-dye shirts, canoeing, road trips, cheering on his grandchildren at their activities, beating his children in cribbage, and the congregation of Holy Nativity Lutheran Church. If you knew him, you gave his life meaning, and you created another story to be told.

He is survived by his wife, Delores Hoseth, son, Chad (Amy) Hoseth, daughter Allison (Tim) Rose; siblings, Paul (Jeanne) Hoseth, Jim (Sue) Hoseth, and Jane DeLong; step-children Rebecca (John), Ross (Shelly), and Dana; 11 adored grandchildren, and many treasured nieces, nephews and cousins.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 12th at Holy Nativity Lutheran Church (3900 Winnetka Ave. N. New Hope, MN). Funeral service will be held at 2:00 with a visitation one hour prior and a dessert & donut reception to follow. The service will be livestreamed at holynativity.net. In lieu of flowers, donations are preferred to Holy Nativity Lutheran Church.
