Donald Wallace Klein, 99, of Robbinsdale passed away on November 12, 2025. He was born to Walter and Agnes Klein in Minneapolis. He served in the army in WWII in Europe, of which he was justly proud. Donald graduated from the U of M journalism school and worked as an advertising copy writer for several firms, including Gambles Skogmo and H. A. Holden in Minneapolis. He was a part-time professional jazz drummer, and also played the trumpet. He lived his whole adult life in the Robbinsdale area.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie; daughter, Cynthia Solverud; parents; and sister Delores.

Donald is survived by his sons, Jeffery (Kevin Sitter) and James; 5 nieces and a nephew.

Memorial service will be December 2 at 11am with visitation an hour prior at Gearty-Delmore Robbinsdale Chapel, 3888 W Broadway Ave. Private interment will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Andrew Residence, 1215 S 9th St, Minneapolis, MN 55404, to the attention of Karen Foy.
