Dorothy Ann Walquist Hanle

Dorothy Ann Hanle, age 101, of Minneapolis, MN, passed away peacefully on Aug 9, 2026. She was born on July 28, 1925 and lived a long and fulfilling life devoted to family, friendship, work, music and the many activities she loved.

Dorothy took great pride in her work as a medical secretary at North Memorial Hospital for more than 40 years. Outside of work, Dorothy enjoyed playing golf, traveling, playing bridge, and socializing with family and friends.

Music was also an important part of her life. She began playing the trumpet in 4th grade and continued throughout junior high and high school, participating in the concert, jazz and marching band, and proudly playing at her hometown memorial services. Her love of music continued throughout her life when she joined the Robbinsdale City Band.

Dorothy met Joe Hanle in 1946 and they were married in 1948, sharing 56 very happy hears together until his death in 2004. She is remembered with love by Mary (Bill) Schuda, Nancy (Neil) Robinson, Tom (Sandy) Hanle, Cindy Spangler, Lisa (Jim) Miller, along with 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

Her Celebration of Life will be on Sat, Sept 26 at 11am at Brunswick United Methodist Church, Crystal, with visitation at 10am, followed by a luncheon. Interment at Ft Snelling.
