Dottie was born and raised in Murphysboro, IL, the only daughter among 4 brothers, of Joseph and Alice Daniel.  She graduated from Michigan State University, where she reigned as Queen of the annual Water Carnival, with a degree in business. She also met Theodore (Ted) there, whom she married in 1956.  Together they raised 5 children, Ted (Laura), Tom (Robin), Richard (Kim), Bob (Diane), and Carol McGoldrick (Tom).  The early years were filled with cross country moves, spending time in CA, WI, TX and IN before settling down in Plymouth in 1968.  After many years as full time “Mom” she started a career in the early 1970’s at Carlson Companies, then Fingerhut, and retired from Milestone Hotel Investments at age 70.  But she never stopped working, volunteering countless hours at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church, Interfaith Outreach and Methodist Hospital.   After losing Ted to cancer, then her mother, she devoted her life to her grandchildren, and was thrilled upon the arrival of her first great grandchild.  Her 15 adoring grandchildren share memories of secret forts, sleepovers, games, Christmas gift exchanges, New Year’s parties, parents’ “surprise” 50th birthday parties, and fabulous family vacations to Cragun’s resort, Mexico, and South Dakota.  While in the end, she had numerous health challenges you wouldn’t know it by looking at her.  She had a strong faith, a smile on her face and treasured time spent with family and her many friends.  Mass of Christian Burial 11 AM Monday, February 28 at The Church of St. Bartholomew, 630 E. Wayzata Blvd, Wayzata.  Visitation at church one hour before Mass. Luncheon to follow. Private interment Holy Name Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Interfaith Outreach or St. Bartholomew Church.
