Dorothy M. Nies

Dorothy Nies, age 90, formerly of Robbinsdale passed away on Oct 23, 2018 in Alexandria, MN. Dorothy was born February 15, 1928 in Mpls, the oldest of 19 children. God and family were very important to Dorothy.  She had a feisty personality and spoke with candor and sincerity.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Fred; brother, Harvey; sisters, Marilyn and Annella.

Survived by sons, David and Michael (Wendy); daughter, Mary Ditter (Mark); grandchildren, Daniel Nies (Megan), Angela Einerson (Daniel), Rachel Ditter and Evan Ditter; great grandchildren, Elsie, Lincoln, William, Jackson and Wesley; 15 siblings, Melvin, Eileen, Clarence, Daniel, Veronica, David, Joseph, Joanne, Delores, Thomas, John, Andrew, George, Cindy and Steven; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

We would like to extend our thanks and appreciation to the caregivers at Knute-Nelson Nursing Home and Hospice of Douglas County for the exceptional care they gave to Dorothy.

Mass of Christian Burial 10 AM Friday, Nov. 2 ^nd at the church of the Sacred Heart, 4087 W. Broadway, Robbinsdale. Visitation 5-7 PM Thursday at Gearty-Delmore Robbinsdale Chapel, 3888 W. Broadway and Friday 1 hour prior to Mass at church. Interment Gethsemane Cemetery.
