Douglas Dean Olson, age 83 of Otsego, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on February 4, 2023.

Doug is survived by his son, Dean (Mary) Olson, daughter, Stacie, grandchildren, Matthew (Alli Sandquist) Olson, Sarah (Franky Holzheu) Olson, brothers Marvin (Sandy) Liudahl, Dale (Linda) Liudahl, and many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Marcella, mother, Eleanor Olson, brother Ronald Rhodes and special friend Jean Peasha.


Doug was born June 3, 1939, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He grew up in the cities and joined the army between 1961-1963. He married his wife Marcy of 40 years on July 2, 1966. He was employed at TRW in Minneapolis as a machinist and followed the company when they moved to New Hope. He worked his way up to plant manager until he retired early to care for his wife.

Doug lived life fully and enjoyed activities such as golfing, bowling and going to the casino. He cherished his family by spending time with his children and spoiling his grandchildren.

Celebration of Life will be from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. At Gearty-Delmore Funeral Chapel, 15800 37th Ave N, Plymouth. Time of sharing will be 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery at a later date.
