Douglas J. Hefti

Doug Hefti of Roseville, Minnesota, formerly from Olivia, passed away unexpectedly on June 6, 2023. Doug was born on August 15, 1945 in Olivia, which was also V-J Day in World War II. He was the son of Clarence Hefti of Olivia and his mother, Violet Lentz Hefti of Renville.

He graduated from Olivia High School and attended the University of Minnesota. Doug enlisted in the US Army in the late 1960’s, serving at various bases in the United States.  He then worked for the United States Federal Court in St. Paul, primarily with former Judge Miles Lord.

Doug was a good friend to many and a wonderful relative to numerus cousins who survived him. He was a long-time resident of Rose Pointe Apartments in Roseville where he knew many of the fellow residents. After retiring from the US Courts, he traveled extensively throughout Minnesota, often finding former teachers, college friends, and other people he knew from Olivia.

A memorial service will be held  at 9:00 AM, Thursday, June 22, 2023 at Gearty-Delmore Robbinsdale Chapel, 3888 West Broadway, Robbinsdale.

Interment services for Doug will be held at 9:45 AM, Wednesday, July 5, 2023 at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.  Please gather in Assembly Area #2 by 9:30 AM.
