Elaine G. Merkl

Elaine G. Merkl, age 100, of Minneapolis, passed away Sept. 28, 2023.

Elaine is preceded in death by husband, John; son, Jerry; grandchildren, Nick, Claire and Thomas.    She is survived by children, Jim (Diana), Bob (Mary Jo), Catherine (Scott) Herberg, John (Evonne), Mary (Mark) Anderson, Jeanne, Ray (Sue), Paul (Marcy), Julie (Tom) Stone, Tom (Mark); 25 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren;13 great-great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

Elaine will be remembered for her many years in the St. Austin/St. Bridget craft group and her chocolate chip cookies, but what brought her the greatest joy was her love of all children, especially babies.

Mass of Christian Burial 10 am Thursday, Oct. 5, 2023 at the Church of the Sacred Heart, 4087 West Broadway, Robbinsdale. Visitation 4 – 7 PM Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2023 at Gearty-Delmore Robbinsdale Chapel, 3888 W. Broadway and 1 hour before the Mass at the church. Interment Ft. Snelling National Cemetery.
