Florence Mueller

Florence B. Mueller age 95, formerly of Chicago, IL passed away peacefully in her sleep on December 17, 2016 at The Lighthouse Memory Care of Columbia Heights.

She was preceded in death by her parents Karol and Anna (Sroka) Ziaja of Thorp, WI; nine siblings; husband Arthur F. Mueller; her gentleman friend William Nagel; and younger daughter Bonita J. Mueller.

Florence is survived by her elder sister Virginia; older daughter Betty J. (Jim) Hagenbrock; Bonita’s husband Ray Luttrell; grandchildren John (Jennifer) Hagenbrock, Julianna (Heiko) Vader, and Ashley Pierce-Luttrell; great grandchildren Keith, Cameron and Isabel Hagenbrock, Kaija and Luca Vader.

Florence was born and raised on a farm outside of Thorp, WI, moved to Chicago during WWII, helped assemble radios for the war effort, met and married Arthur in 1946, with whom she was blessed with two daughters, 13 years apart. Her middle years were centered around family activities, the Catholic church and polka dancing. In her later years, she continued to enjoy Polish dance at the Major Hall and the Stardust with Mr. Bill Nagel. Upon Bill’s passing, Florence moved to The Lighthouse to be closer to surviving family.

Interment of Florence’s cremains will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at 12:00 Noon at Maryhill Cemetery (inside the chapel), 8600 North Milwaukee Ave, Niles, IL. A luncheon will follow at The White Eagle Restaurant, 6839 North Milwaukee Ave, Niles, IL.
