Frances G. Boyer (lovingly known as “Grandma Fran” by so many), age 87, of Plymouth, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by the love of her family, on September 30, 2025.
Preceded in death by her beloved husband, John “Jack” Boyer; her mother, Virginia Hansen; stepfather, Henry Hansen; father, Frank Pritchett; brothers, Don and Kenneth Pritchett; daughter, Pamela Zawistowski; and son-in-law, James Zawistowski.
She is survived by her daughter, Debra Robinson (Jeffrey); Jack’s son, John; grandchildren, Serena Robinson (fiancé Roman Wolfe), Jeffrey Robinson II (Bethany), Tahlia Robinson, Miranda Piehler (Michael) and their son Morgan, Micah Zawistowski, Sarah Walker (Joe) and their children Charlie and Gino, Ashley White (Michael) and their son James, Michelle Vasquez and her daughter Mackenzie; along with many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Fran was born on July 25, 1938, in Nevis, Minnesota. After graduating from Nevis High School in 1956, she moved to Minneapolis just a week later to work as a long-distance operator for Northwestern Bell.
She met Jack Boyer on a blind date in March of 1958, and by October of the same year, they were married. In 1961, they welcomed their first daughter, Debbie, followed by their second daughter, Pam, in 1963.
While Jack ran their Boyer Construction company, Fran managed the business side, balancing work and family.
Fran’s interests and hobbies were wide-ranging and included spending time with her family and her multitude of friends, deer hunting, hanging wallpaper, working in her beautiful yard, watching Minnesota Vikings games, taking bike trips with neighborhood friends, caning chairs, restoring old clocks, collecting antiques, playing Words With Friends, and reading.
She was also deeply committed to her faith and her community. Fran volunteered in many areas at the churches she attended, including driving coach buses for church events, singing in the choir, participating in mission trips, visiting shut-ins, serving meals to the homeless, mentoring new Christians, and volunteering with the Stephen Ministry. For many years, she also served as an election judge in her district.
Fran had an infectious spunk and a heart full of love. When someone told her they loved her, her response was always, “I love you more!” She loved her cats, she loved her Dr. Pepper, and had an unwavering love and devotion for her family. Above all, she loved Jesus and lived out that love through her actions and relationships.
Fran will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her legacy of kindness, faith, and love will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
