Francis 'Fran' Heck

Francis 'Fran' Heck of St. Michael, formerly of North Minneapolis, peacefully passed away September 7, 2026, at the age of 88. A graduate of North High School, he earned his A.A. degree from the University of Minnesota. He was a lifelong heavy equipment owner/operator and also worked in the film industry through Teamsters Local 638. Fran was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, water and snow skiing, and traveling.

Preceded by death by parents Frank and Lucile; brothers, Phil, Gene and Bob; longtime companion, Donelle Peterson. Survived by siblings, Dick, Garry, Bill, Mary (Denny) Otto, and Kate Eisenzimmer; sisters-in-law, Annette and Sue, nieces, nephews.

A special thank you to the staff at Lakeside Memory Care and Caretenders Hospice for their kindness and compassion shown to Fran.

Celebration of Fran’s Life will be held on Friday, Oct. 2 from 4-8 pm at Golden Valley American Legion, 8900 Golden Valley Road.
