Genevieve “Jenny” Joann Michael Zemlicka passed away peacefully on February 11, 2026, at the age of 93. Whether you knew her as Jenny, Mom, Grandma, or Great-Grandma, you knew a woman whose quiet strength, kindness, and unwavering love made the world feel gentler and more connected. She had a gift for making people feel seen, welcomed, and cared for, and she leaves behind a legacy of compassion that will live on through her family.
Jenny devoted her life to caring for others. She gave selflessly to those she loved, offering steady support through life’s joys and hardships and always striving to keep peace and connection within her family. She was never one to seek the spotlight, but her warm presence and genuine laughter brought comfort and joy to those that knew her.
Family was the center of Jenny’s world. She found her greatest happiness in the lives and milestones of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and she was deeply loved by all who knew her.
Genevieve Joann Siewert was born on February 18, 1932, in Golden Valley, Minnesota, to Walter and Katherine Siewert. She grew up alongside her siblings Gloria, Geraldine, Gladys, Walter “Bud”, Garnet, Wayne, and Grenaire.
On December 1, 1956, she married William “Bill” Michael, and together they welcomed two sons, Kevin and Mark. After Bill’s passing in 1962, Jenny married John Zemlicka on August 4, 1972, and their family grew to include sons Kyle and Matthew.
Through her sons, she welcomed daughters into her family, each of whom she loved dearly. She was a proud grandmother to Brandon, Andrea, Kristine, Luke, Jon, Zoe, Erick, and Ethan, and a great-grandmother to Greyson and Mila.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, William Michael; her parents, Walter and Katherine Siewert; and her siblings Gloria, Geraldine, Gladys, Walter “Bud”, Garnet, and Wayne. She is survived by her loving husband John of 53 years; sons Kevin (Miriam) Michael, Mark Michael, Kyle (Lisa) Zemlicka, Matthew (Cynthia) Zemlicka; sister Grenaire Kanduth; and her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at Gearty-Delmore Funeral Home in Plymouth, Minnesota, on Monday, February 16, 2026, at 1:30 pm, with visitation beginning at 12:30 pm. Burial will follow at 2:30 pm at Gethsemane Cemetery in New Hope, Minnesota. An informal happy hour in Jenny’s memory at Pub 42 in New Hope will follow the burial.
Jenny will be remembered for her quiet strength, her selfless love, and the countless ways she cared for the people around her. She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
