In Loving Memory of Gina Lynn Will (Alvig)
August 25, 1970 – September 30, 2023
Gina Lynn Will (Alvig) was called home by the Lord on September 30, 2023, leaving a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories. She was born in Watertown, Minnesota, to her loving parents, Gary and Colleen Alvig.
Gina married her beloved husband Nathen Will on October 16, 1993. They shared a beautiful journey of 30 years, and together they raised their cherished son, Jacob and spoiled their faithful companion, Yaeger.
Gina is survived by her parents, Gary and Colleen Alvig; her brother, Jason Alvig, his wife, Angela, their children Noah and Lindsay; her in-laws, Marnie and Patricia Will; her sister-in-law, Tonya Steere (Will), her brother-in-law Nathan Steere, and their children Sydney, Londyn and Sam.
In her lifetime, Gina was predeceased by her grandparents, Howard and Anna Mae Albrecht, and Gordon and Myrtle Alvig, who undoubtedly welcomed her with open arms into heaven.
Gina was a proud graduate of the South Dakota State University College of Pharmacy. Her professional journey was an incredible one as she spent three remarkable decades as a devoted pharmacist with Walgreens. Her career spanned many stores in several states, and she was sought after as the go-to person to open stores and manage pharmacies. Wherever she went, the store location flourished, growing in number of customers and happy employees. She was a meaningful colleague, partner, and mentor to the hundreds of people she worked with. She coached her staff not only on technical matters but about life; she ran a tight ship and expected excellence from everyone she worked with. To Gina, it was much more than a job. Her staff was her second family; they worked hard and had a lot of fun in the process.
Beyond her professional life, Gina had a profound love for the SDSU Jackrabbits, passionately following their every game with unwavering support. Her enthusiasm and devotion to her alma mater was truly inspiring.
Gina was known for her infectious laugh, her gift of gab, and her zest for life. Her positive attitude was a beacon of light, guiding those around her through life's challenges. She had an uncanny ability to uplift spirits and make everyone feel at ease in her presence.
Her interests were as diverse as her personality. She enjoyed boating, golf, reveled in the joy of country music concerts and nurtured her beautiful garden. Gina was a culinary wizard, creating delectable meals on her Traeger smoker, experimenting with new recipes, and exploring the world of flavors. She was an adventurer at heart, always eager to travel, discover new breweries, and share her life’s passions with her family and friends.
Rest in peace, dear Gina. Your laughter, love, and light will forever live on in our hearts.
