Listen to Obituary

Gloria Ann Nybo, age 89 of Minneapolis passed away July 27, 2025. Gloria was born March 3, 1936 in Benton, MN to Ruben and Charlotte Swan.

'Gloria was the heart and strength of her family, always putting others before herself, especially her family. She was a good natured, kindhearted person whose smile was contagious. She had a great sense of humor, always cracking a joke. It brought her joy to make others laugh. She understood the value of hard work, passing it down to her children.

She was a true example of perseverance and independence; a woman who faced adversity with strength, resilience and a touch of spunk. For many years, she was an active member with TOPS (Take Pounds Off Sensibly) where she made many lifelong friends. With music in her soul she found her happy place dancing and often did so in her dining room encouraging others to join in. God gifted her with the ability to dance all the way until her last days. She loved to sing along with the music even when words began to fail her, she could recall a song. When she could no longer dance, her spirit continued to dance through the tapping of her feet. Those were special moments for her family, to see her love of music shine through.

Gloria had an adventurous nature, often leading her to the lakes of Northern Minnesota where she enjoyed fishing and camping as well as her yearly trips to her timeshare in Nisswa, MN to spend quality time with her family. She enjoyed gardening and seasonal harvests, such as strawberry and asparagus picking. She had a strong network of supportive friends and was deeply loved by all.

She will be dearly missed. We will forever cherish the memories we shared with her.

Gloria was preceded in death by husband, Carl Nybo. She is survived by daughters, Kim Radman, Dawn Weeber and husband Doug, Janette Armstrong, Theresa Hauswirth and husband Michael; sons, Patrick Armstrong, Raymond Armstrong and wife Cynthia; grandchildren, Curtis Cease, Anglea Dexter, Savannah Klasinski, Christina Sowa, James Weeber, Dougie Weeber, Spencer Hauswirth, Elijah Hauswirth, Gabriel Hauswirth, Samantha Hauswirth, Griffon Armstrong; 12 Great Grandchildren; 4 Great Great Grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

If Roses Grow in Heaven

If Roses grow in Heaven

Lord, please pick a bunch for me.

Place them in my Mother’s arms

and tell her they’re from me.

Tell her that I love her and miss her,

and when she turns to smile,

place a kiss upon her cheek

and hold her for a while.

Because remembering her is easy,

I do it every day,

but there’s an ache within my heart

that will never go away.
