Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend, Harriet Loretta Snell (née Knaeble), passed away peacefully the morning of Thursday, August 6, 2026, at the age of 98, with love surrounding her. She was preceded in death by her son, Michael Snell; parents, Charles and Susan Knaeble; brothers, Joseph and Charles Knaeble; and sisters, Mary Lamey, Susan Reiter, Alice Hanson, Dorothy Kurtz, Ruth Garbett, Helen Schmeling, and Eileen Spano. Harriet will be missed greatly by her surviving sons Timothy (Shelley) and Kevin (Kathy) Snell; daughter Kathleen Snell; daughter-in-law Julie Snell; and 13 loving grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great grandchildren and extended family members.

Harriet was born in Robbinsdale and graduated from Robbinsdale High School, Class of 1946. She worked in several fields but is best remembered as a loving Nanny and caregiver. She was a woman of service who volunteered to help abused women through North Memorial Hospital and supported numerous volunteer events at local elementary schools and throughout the community. She is a past President of the American Legion Women's Auxiliary, where she was active for over fifty years, and is a past member of the Crystal VFW Post 494, named in honor of her brother Charles Knaeble, who was killed while serving in France during World War II.

A funeral honoring Harriet's life and service will be held on Thursday, August 20, at The Church of the Sacred Heart in Robbinsdale, with visitation starting at 10 AM and a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM. A luncheon will follow at the Crystal VFW Post 494, 5222 Bass Lake Rd., in Crystal. Interment will be with family at a later time at Gethsemane Cemetery in New Hope, MN.
