Listen to Obituary

Helen lived a full and happy life. She was born November 22nd 1930 in Twin Lakes, MN. She and her husband, Jim, started their own company, Precision Punch & Plastics Co. They worked well together. Helen used her natural business and organizational skills in combination with Jim's people skills to eventually help run three small companies.

She was an avid reader, current events, fiction, but especially business and investing periodicals. She became very interested in the stock market and did a lot of successful investing over the years. Helen raised her 3 children, while working in the family business. She always emphasized her Catholic religion, and the importance of hard work.

Growing up without a lot of money or material items, Helen was frugal her whole life. She loved estate sale shopping with her daughters. Finding a bargain made her very happy. Although she was frugal, she was extremely generous with her children and grandchildren, as well as the various charities that she supported.

She passed away on July 20th, 2026 in Edina, Minnesota. Helen will be missed by her three children, John, Mary, and Jean, as well as her grandchildren: Michelle Zbaracki, Jimmy Simonse, Katie Gollup, Petey Simonse, and Rosie Johnson. Fortunately, her family lived near her for most of her life. Her daughter, Mary and her granddaughter Michelle, lovingly took care of Helen during the last three years of her life, when she needed care.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Jim, her parents Dave & Kathryn Forbes, her brother Ed Forbes, and her sister, Phyllis Carter.

Though we will miss her, she is now in God's hands with her husband Jim.
