JAMES NORRIS McPERHSON
(AKA-G55!-GOT ONE!)
October 24, 1959 - April 5, 2026
Jim was, above all, a loyal friend and free spirit. His humor and quick wit lit up a room. He was full of life and a bundle of energy.
Jim was raised in Salem, New Jersey with his twin brother, Danny and his family, all of whom have passed away. Jim loved his Grandma Pauline McPherson. Grandma McPherson was able to come to visit Jim a few years back. It was a surprise to him and he cherished those memories every day.
Jim was an extremely bright and intelligent man. He advanced through many grades and graduated college early. He could do math in his head, including fractions, and calculating taxes on totals. His spelling was impeccable.
An entrepreneur, Jim owned an Orange Julius on Long Island for many years. His loyal employees kept in touch with him throughout all the years. He managed many restaurants, including Burger King. He was a bookkeeper for many years.
As such, Jim loved a bargain. He would come home and say that the store actually owed him money to take the item with him. Thus earning him the title of COUPON KING.
The love of Jim's life was his partner, David. He spoke of him often and the love that they shared. They had fun adventures and were a perfect match. I am grateful to know that they are now reunited. Jim is also with his son, James Norris McPherson, Junior.
Jim loved all animals. His cats were his lifeline. He feed the squirrels and rabbits. His kindness to animals is proof that his soul was genuine and kind.
Always wanting to expand his horizons, Jim was working on getting his Doctorate Degree in Hypnosis.
Because of his illness, he was unable to complete his course work.
Jim was my friend and roommate for over 20 years. We knew each other through and through and leaned on each other as true friends do. We shared so many adventures and zany moments. We took many spontaneous trips just for a free dinner.
We called B-A-R-G-O at the Railstation for seven years. Jim won a game on G55, and it became his number. He was so enthusiastic about it that he would coordinate the games to spell out the word of the day. I was A24.
We laughed our hearts out and cried many tears together. The kids (our cats Sir Fluffy, Isabella, Zoomie, and GreyCee) and I will miss him dearly.
Jim will be laid to rest in Mound Cemetery, 3515 - 69th Avenue North, Brooklyn Center, MN 55429, THIS THURSDAY, APRIL 9th at 11 am.
All are welcomed to the graveside service.
