James J. Wessin

James John Wessin, age 63 of Ironton, formally of Hamel, passed away on July 2, 2022, in St. Cloud, MN. He is preceded in death by his parents, H. Stanley and Naime “Bunny” (Hanson) Wessin. He is survived by his brothers George Wessin of Hamel and David Wessin of Maple Grove.

Jim was everyone’s friend. He had that rare gift of making you feel like a good friend once you started talking with him. He wasn’t shy about striking up a conversation with anyone at any time, anywhere. It was truly incredible to watch him using his gift.

Jim was an outdoors type of guy. Maybe it came from growing up on a farm in Hamel. You could always count on his beloved dog Jake to be by his side whether Jim was fishing, hunting, or gardening.

Jim had different jobs throughout his life. He started his career as a driver/dock worker at MSP airport for Airborne Express. He later worked at Graphic Systems, Karpen Concrete, and other companies over the years.
