Listen to Obituary

Janet Elizabeth Klis passed away peacefully on October 16, 2026.

Born in 1951 to Clarence and Helen, Janet grew up alongside her older sister, Charlotte. In 1966, she met the love of her life, David. Despite him picking her up on his Vespa for their very first date, she agreed to a second, and they later married, bonding over a shared love of fast cars. They celebrated 54 wonderful years of marriage together. She was a deeply devoted and fiercely loving mother to her son, Eric.

Janet spent the majority of her career at Polaris, working there for 38 years. Starting in accounts payable, she went on to serve as the executive assistant to three different CEOs. Working at Polaris was a true joy for her, and she cherished the lifelong friendships she made there. She was especially well-known for planning elaborate company Christmas parties at the Medina Ballroom and bringing joy to coworkers with her individualized embroidered baby blankets for their new arrivals.

She loved diamonds, Christmas, Corvettes, shopping, dogs, and always looking her absolute best. She had an uncanny knack for finding the exact right gift for anyone, took immense pride in keeping her home immaculate, and mastered the art of making a flawless Christmas beef tenderloin.

Diagnosed with cancer in 2018, Janet beat the disease like the true fighter she was. Though the lingering effects of radiation and chemotherapy made her final years challenging, she faced them with strength and determination.

Janet is survived by her loving husband, David; her son, Eric; her son-in-law, Paul Bock; and sister, Charlotte Wellner.
