Jayne Putland

Jayne Putland (Crickett) ( Nov 17, 1980 - May 03, 2015 ) Maple Grove Jayne Selene (Crickett) Putland was born November 17, 1980, at Rosetown, Saskatchewan, to her parents, Valerie and Clifford Crickett. She was a younger sister for Carolyn, and soon became an older sister to Nancy. Jayne was baptized on October 25, 1981, and confirmed June 19, 1994, at the St. Andrew's United Church in Eston, Saskatchewan. Jayne took her public school education in Eston, Saskatchewan. During her school and following years she was an avid singer. She took formal voice lessons as well as participated in music festival competitions, and was often asked to sing at community events. She also played clarinet in the school band. Jayne participated in the Missoula Children's Theatre and loved it. She had a childhood filled with varied interests. She was in 4H horse and dog clubs, participated in public speaking, competed in archery, and even took a fire arms safety course. Jayne loved to paint. After graduating from Eston Composite School in 1998, Jayne attended Business College in Saskatoon for one year, and then attended the University of Saskatchewan. She belonged to two theatre groups in Saskatoon during university years. Jayne transferred to the University of Alberta into the Theatre Arts, specializing in Design. She graduated from that program with distinction in 2005. 2005 brought many changes in Jayne's life. This is the year she married her life mate, Curtis Putland and moved to Minneapolis. Jayne and Curtis had a very complementary relationship where each had talents that brought out the best of the other. Their marriage was blessed with two sons; Jack in 2010, and Hugh in 2012. When Hugh was still a young baby, Jayne was diagnosed with cancer. She fought her cancer with all her might, and continued to enjoy her life. Jayne loved singing and even this past Easter, sang with the church choir. She shared her musical gifts unselfishly. Jayne's sons were her joy. She wanted to provide them with every opportunity life afforded them. She planned many outings for them as well as created projects at home in which they could partake. Jack and Hugh were well cared for and loved deeply. In July, 2014, Jayne's cancer reoccurred. She again battled it courageously. Her strong faith and ability to see positives in most anything were assets in her battle. After a courageous battle with cancer, Jayne died at her home with her family by her side on May 3, 2015 at the age of 34. She will be welcomed into heaven by her grandparents Cal and Hazel Crickett, grandparent Reinhold Mantay, and father-in-law Ron Putland. Jayne will be missed beyond words by her husband Curtis, sons Jack and Hugh, parents Valerie and Clifford Crickett, sisters Nancy (Franz) Peters, sister Carolyn (Eric) Maguet, niece Veronica (Jayne's Goddaughter), nephew Anson, mother-in-law Vallery Putland, sister-in-law Lauri (Rob) Putland, brothers-in-law Paul (Dineen) Vrana and family, and Russel (Patricia) Putland and family, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
