Jerome "Jerry" N. Braun

JEROME (JERRY) BRAUN, age 92, of Anoka, entered the eternal kingdom of God on August 21, 2022.

Born in Stearns County on Dec. 7, 1929, Jerry graduated from St. Thomas College and served in Army intelligence in Germany during the 1950s. He later worked as a radio announcer and with Style Line Greetings in Minneapolis. In 1969 Jerry founded B-Craft Fundraising Products and later, Braun Printing. Jerry and his wife of 65 years, Joan, were charter members of St. Alphonsus Church, Brooklyn Center, where Jerry was active in the senior choir and the Knights of Columbus. In addition to his family and his business, Jerry felt one of his biggest accomplishments was being a founding member of “The Happy Wanderers”, a German singing group that performed around the upper Midwest for 25 years.

Jerry was preceded in death by his wife, Joan Emig Braun; parents, Arthur and Elizabeth Braun; brothers, Irvin, Cletus, Herbert and Dean Braun; sisters, Marci Veldre, Marian Ertl and Jeannette Mayers and three infant siblings.

He is survived by his children, Carol (Ed) Shukle, Barbara (Maris) Schilling, David (Diane), Mark (Kristin), Paul (Mary Freund-Braun), and Greg (Kat). Also survived by grandchildren, Katherine Nicholsen, Andrew, Emma, and Monica Shukle, Amanda Carlson, Nicole Popowitz, Mariah Carlson, Dustin and Robert Braun, Andrea, Kimberly and Matthew Braun, Elizabeth Harstad, Michelle Baker, Hayden Braun, Christopher Braun, and Haley Gutoski; 15 great-grandchildren; sister, Doris Peters; and many nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept 14 at the Church of St. Vincent De Paul, 9100 93rd Ave. N., Brooklyn Park. Visitation at the church beginning at 9:30 a.m.  Interment at Gethsemane Mausoleum, New Hope.
