Joan P. Arnold

Joan P. Arnold, age 92 of New Hope passed away on 5/28/2023. Preceded in death by her husband John and parents Joseph and Lena Steman. Survived by children Cathy (Ed) Benson, Mark (Doreen) Arnold, 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren

Joan was born Feb. 22,1931. She was adopted by Joseph and Lena Steman.  Joan and her sister Elaine grew up in Eden Valley Minnesota.  Her parents owned Duffy’s Café in Eden Valley. She spent lots of time there helping out. She graduated from Eden Valley High school. She married John Arnold on Feb. 14th 1950. They moved to St. Louis Park and adopted 2 children, Mark and Cathy. Joan was a receptionist at St. Louis Park Medical center for many years. This was the perfect job for her because of her friendly and caring attitude. When they retired, they bought a home in St. Cloud. When John passed, Joan moved to an apartment in St. Cloud. She eventually moved to St. Therese senior apartments in New Hope to be closer to her family.  The last few years she lived independently with some assistance. She exercised 3 times a week and enjoyed going to the beauty shop to have her hair set. She loved to read, laugh and spend time with her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be deeply missed.

Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, June 10th, 11 AM with visitation starting at 10 AM at the Church of St. Joseph the Worker, 7180 Hemlock Lane North, Maple Grove. Private interment at the Minnesota State Veteran's Cemetery, Little Falls, MN.
