Joan Marie Bussen

Age 95 of St Louis Park (Parkshore Community).

Joni was born 12-5-30 Joan Marie Morneau and graduated as a RN from St Mary's Nursing School and earlier from St. Catherine University and Holy Angels High School. Joni was a lifelong Catholic and most recently attended Holy Family Catholic Community.

Our beautiful, amazing, wonderful red headed French Irish mother, grandmother, great grandmother has passed away on 9-18-26. Joni was multi-talented! A partial list she was a RN nurse, painter, pianist but mainly a wonderful mother to 12 children. Her first husband James A. Isca tragically crashed in a Navy Training Jet in May,1962. They had 6 children Tim, Terry, Pat, Mickey, Peggy and Ted and one on the way Jimmy. She met her 2nd husband James Bussen (who was a widower with 3 children James Jerome, Joan and Leanne with his first beloved wife Joan) around Halloween, 1963 and they got married the day after Christmas in 1963. Whew! They went on to have two children of their own, Megan and Amy.

From such a crazy start to marriage and raising children mom was always a steady and very loving force in all our lives all the way to her passing. She was always positive, loving, kind and would mix in especially later in life, some fun goofiness to add to her wonderful spice of life. Mom will be dearly missed by her kids, grandkids, great grandkids, relatives and many, many friends.  Mom, God Bless You and Your Gang of Many Loved Ones!!!!!

Joan was preceded in death by many beloved: her husbands James Arthur Isca and James Francis Bussen, her parents Leon and Agnes and her siblings Julie and Thomas. Also preceded by sons Timothy (survived by wife Cindy), James Jerome and daughter Amy.

Joan is survived by beloved children: Joan Charles, Terry (Ann), Pat (Barb), Leanne (Charles) Leeder, Michael (Renae), Peggy (Jay) Gleason, Ted (Michelle), James A. (Barb), and Megan Kizershot. Also very much beloved were 22 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

Visitation Sunday, September 27, 3-6pm, at Gearty-Delmore Park Chapel, 3960 Wooddale Ave S., St. Louis Park.

Mass of Christian Burial Monday, September 28, 10am, with visitation starting at 9:30am at the Church of the Holy Family, 5900 W. Lake St., St Louis Park

Private interment at Fort Snelling Cemetery at a later date.
