Joan Conkel McNally (nee Lambert)

Joan passed away peacefully on Sept. 13, 2025 at Folkestone Senior Care Center in Wayzata at the age of 94. Born July 27, 1931 in Hebron, Nebraska, Joan lived a life of love, kindness and devotion. A cherished wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, she found her greatest joy in her family. 

She is survived by children, Terrence (Jeanne) Conkel, Lori (Rick) Jacobson, Sherry (Mark) Derus and David (Linda) Conkel; 12 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband Lowell Conkel in 1994 and her second husband William McNally in 2012. 

Joan's happiest moments were spent surrounded by loved ones at family dinners, get togethers or outings.  She had a deep love of family stories and told many funny stories about herself and her misadventures.  

Joan had a special relationship with her Lord and Savior. A faithful Christian, she was an avid church-goer and committed to spreading the word of God. Even when her health failed her she attended prayer groups and listened to faith-based music, finding comfort with God. 

For the past 4 years Joan was lovingly cared for at Folkestone by the Gables staff, hospice team, nurses and other staff meeting her every need with compassion, patience and understanding. Joan and her family very much appreciated the love and care she recieved, especially that of Bonnie. 

Joan will be forever remembered and deeply missed by all who knew her and loved her.

 Visitation will be from 5 to 8 PM Fri., Sept. 19 at Gearty-Delmore Plymouth Chapel, 15800 37th Ave N. Funeral Service will be 11:00 AM Sat., Sept. 20 at the funeral home with a visitation one hour prior to the service.
