It is with great sadness we announce the death of our beloved Johanna "Jo" "Yancha" Robles of Plymouth, who passed away peacefully on November 13, 2022 at age 95 in her cherished home, surrounded by her family, friends, and with hospice care by Park Nicollet Methodist Hospice. Born on March 26, 1927, she was the last of the original seven brothers and sisters.
Preceded in death by her parents Joseph Sienko and Anna Kozlak Sienko, her beloved soulmate Ricardo "Ric" Robles, siblings John, Stan, Ed, Ted, Sister Dorothy Sienko and Helen Sienko Boser, sister-in-law Thilcia Robles de Paredes, brother-in-law Rigoberto Paredes, daughters-in-law Julie (John) Robles and Karen (Richard) Robles.
Survived by her children Richard, John, Jeff (Pat), and Jane Robles; Sister-in-law Dorothy (Ted) Sienko; grandchildren Tim (Chelsie) Robles, Bruce (Vanessa) and Brad Kerr, Nicole (Ryan) Robles Rhoads, Christopher Robles, Bryan, Jennifer, and Alex Robles; great-grandchildren Emma, Madelyn, and Darcy Robles (Tim & Chelsie), Victoria, Evelyn, and Tyler Kerr (Bruce & Vanessa), and Elisebella "Bella" Kerr (Brad); as well as many dear nephews, nieces, and friends.
In her own words to her family: "Because of my marvelous "Osito" (Ric) and all of you, I have had a very blessed, happy, exciting, and fulfilled life. God gave me a beautiful and loving family - thank you, thank you. May your lives be just as incredible as mine was. Remember all the fabulous memories we have had together and how very much you have meant to me!" Jo worked at Cargill as an executive assistant prior to her marriage, which is where she met Ric. She was a masterful hostess and loved entertaining. She was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. She was a big supporter of the organization, Amigos de las Americas - involved in the Miami chapter and served as President of the Mpls/St Paul chapter. In Miami, served on the board of the Frost Museum of Science. Member of the Friends of the Minneapolis Institute of Art, serving on the board and as a Docent. She enjoyed traveling, gardening (long-standing member of the Wayzata Garden Club), and was an avid tennis player into her 80's. Her children knew her not only as mom, but also nicknamed "Energizer Bunny" or the "Velvet Tank". Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren knew her as "Yancha". To the children of the neighborhood, she was the "Candy Lady" - a personal tradition she established at each of her homes, where children were allowed to come once a day, then left her home with a smile and a piece of candy from her special candy box. Jo will be deeply missed by the many who knew and loved her. She was a unique treasure to all who met her.
