Joseph F. Welter

Joseph (Joe) Francis Welter, age 82, of Maple Grove, MN, passed away peacefully on October 25, 2025, surrounded by his family and friends.

Born on August 22, 1943, in Morgan, MN, Joe was the 3rd of 13 children born to Aloys and Phyllis Welter. He graduated from Morgan High School and later earned a bachelor's degree from Mankato State University. Joe worked as an accountant for over 40 years, many of those years supporting his brother and sister in their tax consulting business.

Joe was a loving husband, father, grandpa, and dear friend to many. Joe loved reading, airplanes, and golf. In his younger years, Joe obtained his pilot license and would fly recreationally. He enjoyed playing golf every chance he could and was a member of the men's league at Shamrock Golf Club in Corcoran, MN for many years. His calm demeanor, kindness, and love for the game made him a popular playing partner on the course.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Jan; sons Dan (Erin) and Brett (Rachel); four grandchildren Nolan, Joel, Arden, and Leo; brothers Art, Dennis, Ron, John, and Mike; sisters Mary, Helen, Louise, Dorothy, Sharon. He was preceded in death by his parents Aloys and Phyllis, and brothers Steve and Mark.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 PM Monday, November 3 at Gearty Delmore Plymouth Chapel, 15800 37th Ave N.

Funeral Service will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, November 4 at Lord of Life Lutheran Church, 7401 County Rd 101, Maple Grove, with visitation one hour prior to the service.
