Josephine R. Walaszek

Josephine (“Jo, Jo-Jo, Autie Jo”) R. Walaszek, 94, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at her residence at Saint Therese in Brookly Park, MN. She was surrounded by family, as she would have wanted.

Jo was born in Minneapolis on February 26, 1931, where she lived with her family for many years. From there, she moved to Brooklyn Center where she resided until she moved into her apartment at Saint Therese, also in Brooklyn Center. Jo loved the University of Minnesota where she worked her entire career in the medical school. She faithfully attended St. Alfonsus Catholic Church as well as Minnesota Gopher hockey, football and basketball games.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, parents, siblings, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, a great niece, and many friends. Jo is survived by many other nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and friends. She will be remembered for her devotion to her family, faith and generosity to all.

A mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, January 2, 2026, at 12:30 pm at Saint Alphonsus Catholic Church, 7025 Halifax Avenue North, Brooklyn Center 55429; with a Visitation 30 minutes before. Memorials are preferred to the Saint Threse Foundation.
