Josephine R. Walaszek

Josephine (“Jo, Jo-Jo, Auntie Jo”) R. Walaszek, 94, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at Saint Therese in Brooklyn Park, MN. She was surrounded by family, as she would have wanted.

Jo was born in Minneapolis on February 26, 1931. After living with her family for many years, Jo moved to her residence in Brooklyn Center, followed by her move to Saint Therese. Jo loved the University of Minnesota where she worked her entire career in the medical school. She faithfully attended St. Alfonsus Catholic Church as well as Minnesota Gopher hockey, football and basketball games.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, parents, siblings, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, a great niece, and many friends. Jo is survived by many other nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and friends. She will be remembered for her devotion to her family, faith and generosity to all.

A mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, January 2, 2026, at 12:30 pm at St. Alfonsus Catholic Church in Brooklyn Center; with a Visitation 30 minutes prior. Memorials are preferred to the Saint Therese Foundation.
